A licence defines the need to obtain recognition / certification and registration to undertake a certain business activity.

Eligibility requirements

In considering your application, the Authority is to have regard to the following matters:

• the suitable person requirements outlined below
• the standard and nature of the proposed casino, and the facilities to be provided in, or in conjunction with the proposed casino
• the likely impact of the use of the premises concerned as a casino on a tourism, employment, economic development generally in the place or region in which the premises are located
• your expertise in regards to the obligations of the holder of a casino licence
• any other matters that the Authority considers relevant.

To be eligible for this licence, you (and your close associates) must be deemed to be suitable persons for the purpose of this licence. The Authority is to consider whether:

• each person is of good repute, having regard to character, honesty and integrity
• each person has a sound and stable financial background
• if you have or are able to obtain financial resources that are both suitable and adequate for ensuring the financial viability of the proposed casino
• if you have or are able to obtain the services of people who have sufficient experience in the management and operation of a successful casino
• if you have sufficient business ability to establish and maintain a successful casino.
