You will need this licence if you intend to become a bookmaker for thoroughbred racing in NSW. This licence applies to individuals, if you intend to apply as a company you will require a bookmaker company licence.
Bookmakers operate at race meetings, in approved auditoriums or betting premises during pre-determined hours to offer bets on racing events. This licence permits you to take bets face to face, via recorded phone calls, and the internet. Depending on your licence conditions, bets are offered on daily racing events, future races including doubles, and approved betting events.
