A cultural heritage export permit is required by individuals for the export of individual objects of Australia's cultural heritage. This includes:
- works of art
- vintage vehicles
- Aboriginal heritage items.
Principal collecting institutions may apply for a General Permit, which allows institutions to temporarily export Class B objects without applying for individual permits and external assessments. Principal collecting institutions include:
